Summary[edit]

This weather map presents temperatures of cities across the world.

How it was created[edit]

It was generated by the open source WeatherChecker application, available from the Wikinews WeatherChecker web site.

Starting with WeatherChecker version 1.9 (available via CVS on the WeatherChecker web site), anyone can create weather maps using WeatherChecker, without the use of any proprietary image creation tools.

The selection of cities used in this map is archived in the ".wcheck" file available on the Wikinews WeatherChecker wcheck page.

Wikinews contributor Ilya Haykinson wrote the first versions of the WeatherChecker application, and administers the WeatherChecker site.

Ilya is also the primary maintainer of the Wikinews page for WeatherChecker.

Wikinews contributor David Vasquez contributed additional code changes beginning with version 1.5 of the WeatherChecker application.
