| Description |
Deutsch: Das Siebengebirge, südöstlich gelegen von Bonn, ist ein Mittelgebirge vulkanischen Ursprungs mit mehr als 50 Bergen und Anhöhen. Mit einer Fläche von 4.272,9764 ha bleibt hier sowohl Tier- als auch Pflanzenwelt eine zum Teil vom Menschen unberührte Natur und Ruhezone erhalten, die zurecht unter strengsten Schutzregeln steht.
Nahe der Stadt Königswinter befindet sich der 287 Meter hohe Stenzelberg (ursprünglich: Steintelberg). Bis zum Jahr 1931 wurde hier das vulkanische Gestein Quarz-Latit abgebaut. Nach Stilllegung der Brüche hat sich am Stenzelberg eine charakteristische Landschaft entwickelt, die die besondere Flora und Fauna eines Trockenbiotops bietet. Insbesondere einheimische Reptilien wie die europäische Mauereidechse findet an den unzähligen Felswänden des Stenzelberges den idealen Lebensraum. Die weibliche Mauereidechse ist bezüglich der Färbung, wie so häufig in der Reptilienwelt, wesentlich unauffälliger, dennoch ein sehr bemerkens- und schützenswertes Lebewesen. |
