Summary[edit]

Description
English: Photo taken at the Lofoten War Memorial Museum (Norwegian: Lofoten Krigsminnemuseum) in Svolvær, Norway's largest exhibition of uniforms and smaller items related to the Second World War and the German occupation of Norway 1940 – 1945:
  • NSU Motorfahrrad/Motorrad, German military motorcycle/motorbike, with license plate "SS 333261". The NSU Motorenwerke produced the 251 OSL motorcycle etc. during the World War II.
  • German WWII gasoline/petrol jerrycan with text in German 20 l Kraftstoff feuergefährlich and marked with "SS", the runic insignia of the Schutzstaffel (SS-Runen, doppelte Siegrune, SS bolts, SS sign). The robust liquid container made from pressed steel was designed in Germany in the 1930s for military use to hold 20 litres (4.4 imp gal; 5.3 US gal) of fuel, and saw widespread use by both Germany and the Allies during the Second World War.
  • Zerknallgefahr, German explosion warning sign
etc.
