Summary[edit]

Description The new Alfred Cunningham Bridge (across the Trent River in New Bern, North Carolina) with its bascule-type lift span raised for a ship to pass through, and traffic waiting for it to come back down. The current bridge is a 2010 double-leaf bascule bridge. It replaced a 1954 swing bridge that was demolished in 2008.
