Description
English: A North American P-51D-5-NA Mustang (s/n 44-14017) takes off from the U.S. Navy aircraft carrier USS Shangri-La (CV-38) during a test flight on 15 November 1944.
This aircraft was given to the U.S. Navy and fitted with arrester hook for carrier trials. It was assigned to the NACA Langley Research Center, Langley Field, Virginia (USA) from 18 January 1945 to 5 June 1952.
