| Description |
English: Off Malpas Road. The photograph is looking in an west north-westerly direction along a short loop off Malpas Road toward Brooke Cottage (left) and Malpas Cottage (right).
Both cottages are private property. The two branches of Brompton Beck meet on the right and flow south under the bridge. From ahead and right the western branch starts at a weir from Brompton Ponds (two former mill ponds). For a photograph of the beck showing the weir, click here 428585. From behind the viewpoint the eastern branch of the beck carrying water from a third mill pond joins the flow. For a more upstream (behind the viewpoint) photograph showing the eastern branch of the beck, click here 428939. For a downstream view of the beck looking back, toward this bridge, click here 428560. This loop crosses the second bridge over a drain and then turns south toward its anticlockwise end where it joins Malpas Road.
