Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Old Coach Road. See 961673 for the full history. The section between Bo Peep Gate and Alfriston became a minor route in 1792 when the main turnpike to Eastbourne was rerouted northwards via what is now Polegate. The trees on the right mark the point where the lane from Alciston meets the road, that on the left the footpath up to the South Downs Way, beyond that is Bostal Hill and the disused Bo Peep Chalk Pit.
