Description

Escola de Artes Veiga Valle.

O município ostenta, há 15 anos, o título de Patrimônio Mundial, concedido pela Organização das Nações Unidas para a Educação, a Ciência e a Cultura (Unesco) e, desde 1978, tem o conjunto arquitetônico, paisagístico e urbanístico do Centro Histórico tombado pelo Instituto do Patrimônio Histórico e Artístico Nacional (Iphan). A cidade também leva adiante obras de espaços históricos contempladas pelo PAC Cidades Históricas Ao todo, o programa investiu cerca de R$ 28 milhões em seis obras. Delas, quatro já foram entregues: a ponte Cambaúba, o Mercado Municipal, o Arquivo Diocesano Dom Tomás Balduíno e a Escola de Artes Veiga Valle. As outras duas, - a sede da prefeitura e o Cine Teatro São Joaquim, ainda estão em andamento.
