PART OF THE PLUMBING AND ASSOCIATED EQUIPMENT FOR THE SOLAR HEATING AND COOLING DEMONSTRATION PROJECT, FUNDED BY THE NATIONAL SCIENCE FOUNDATION. IT IS A LIQUID AS OPPOSED TO A HOT AIR SYSTEM. FLAT PLATE COLLECTORS ON THE ROOF OF THE DEMONSTRATION HOME HAVE BLACKENED COPPER TUBING TO ABSORB HEAT FROM THE SUN. HEATED WATER IS THEN PIPED THROUGH THE HOUSE TO HEAT IT. IN ADDITION, A LITHIUM BROMIDE ABSORPTION AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM IS INCORPORATED, USING THE HEAT REJECTION PRINCIPLE OF A THERMODYNAMIC CYCLE (LIKE A REFRIGERATOR) (English)
