| Description |
English: Panorama from Shaw Forest Park, Swindon. Shaw Forest Park is a work in progress. The land was for many years a large landfill site and its use for that ended within the last twenty years. Because it is still emitting methane it cannot be used for development and so has been designated as a country park. Trees have been, and are being, planted but it will be many years before these grow to maturity. At the moment (and at this time of year) the area is still rather bleak. It does however provide a good viewpoint to look east towards the established parts of Swindon. Visible in this image are one or two buildings of note such as Nova Hreod College just to the right of the left-hand pylon 1704899 and the David Murray John building at the right of the image 339006. |
