Description
Français : selon l'histoire ou la légende, saint Martin était évêque de Tours au IV e siècle, évangélisateur de la Gaule, effectuait de nombreux voyages dans plusieurs provinces pour former des clercs ou fonder des monastères. Lors d'un voyage vers Chartres il a fait étape dans la plaine beauceronne en limite du bassin de la Conie et s'est agenouillé sur une pierre. La légende veut que cette pierre ait été marquée à ce moment-là et que son empreinte soit toujours restée. Une plaque a été aposée sur le revers du monument « A la mémoire de saint Martin, je suis érigée par la volonté de Hurault François Augustin et de Suzanne Rosalie Couvret son épouse à Viabon ». De nos jours, des pèlerinages se déroulent sur place et des manifestations religieuses y ont lieu.
