Summary
[edit]DescriptionPerim Cheikh Said.jpg |
English: The island of Perim across the 3-km wide Bab Iskender (also known as the Small Strait, the Small Pass, the Narrow Pass), seen from the heights of Ras Meheli (also known as Cape Bab-el-Mandeb, the Bab-el-Mandeb Peninsula, Sheikh Said, Sheikh Siyed) on the Yemeni mainland. The tip of the peninsula is made of a number of rocky promontories. Ras Sheikh Said is the westernmost of those promontories but the whole area is often called Sheikh Said. The Perim Lighthouse and associate buildings can be seen faintly towards the left of the photograph. |
