Original Image Name: Piciwiki_israel_69871_pic273.jpg Notes: מאוסף דרשוביץ. מר סבא דַיְר מַאר סַאבַּא בערבית הוא מנזר יווני-אורתודוקסי הבנוי על צוק במדרון נחל קדרון שבצפון מדבר יהודה. המנזר נקרא על שם מייסדו הנזיר סבאס ופעיל כמעט ברציפות זה כ-1500 שנים. סבאס שפעל במשך כ-50 שנה להקמת מיסיונים ומנזרים בארץ ישראל היה הדמות החשובה מבין נזירי המדבר של התקופה הביזנטית והיה גם בעל השפעה רבה על הקיסר הביזנטי יוסטיניאנוס הראשון.
