Summary[edit]

Description
English: Pillbox The pillbox, here seen in the warm light of sunrise, was part of a WW2 radar station, one in the chain that covered the whole of the East Coast of the UK. The pillbox formed part the defences and was originally built into the steel fence that you can see by the roadside at the top of the photograph. The fence ran across the pillbox and you can still see the bits on the roof left when they cut off the steel, presumably for scrap. The older Landranger map shows several masts which are no longer to be seen. In the background is a reservoir. Thanks to Martyn Gorman for information about this site.
