Description
English: A float in the Cambridge Poppy Day parade in 1964 seen on King's Parade. The "savages" are first year undergraduates from St John's College. The missionary in the cooking pot is Keith Sutton, at that time chaplain of St. John's. At that time Hugh Montefiore was vicar of the university church, Great St Mary's. Montefiore went on to be Bishop of Kingston-upon-Thames and Keith Sutton followed him to that post - coincidence or old-boy network?
