DescriptionPsathyrella candolleana velum remains crop.jpg |
English: Psathyrella candolleana from Beaver County, Pennsylvania, USA A small, cone-shaped mushroom found in profusion on a lawn shaded by conifers. The cap top is brown, darker near the center. The caps flatten and crack with age. The gills are light tan and do not extend down the stalk. Filmy veil remnants are scattered along the cap rim. The stalk is centrally attached to the cap and is hollow and fragile. There are longitudinal striations on the stalk and the outer layer breaks and extends in spots in scaly appearing protrusions.
