The Adjutant General of the Puerto Rico National Guard, Brig. Gen. Isabelo Rivera, with the Governor of Puerto Rico, Hon. Ricardo Rosselló, visited the municipalities of Loiza and Canóvanas to survey the damages left in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria, on Sept. 21, 2017. The convoy, of mostly military vehicles, first visited the flooded area of Villa Santo in Loiza where the group joined the rescue efforts still ongoing in the area. Later, Rivera and Rosselló visited Quintas de Canóvanas, where the water damage was most impressive and all homes suffered from a record-breaking river flooding and the debris dragged by it.
