| Description |
(1 in a multiple picture album) If I had to pick just five places that are the most amazing to me, Glenwood Canyon would be on it. Placing I-70 through the canyon was one of the most difficult ordeals of the interstate builders. First of all it is a narrow canyon with soaring vertical walls. Secondly, the state of Colorado and the city of Glenwood Springs insisted that the highway could not interfere with the sceney. The builders did that. You can be on the river without realizing that a four-lane highway is running nearly beside you. |
