Summary[edit]
DescriptionRefugees queue for water in the Jamam camp, South Sudan (7118597209).jpg |
More than 36,000 people have arrived in the Jamam refugee camp in South Sudan in recent months, fleeing from the ongoing conflict in neighbouring Sudan's Blue Nile State. Hundreds of thousands of people in South Sudan are already facing hunger due to poor rain, insecurity and an influx of returnees from Sudan. Now more than 100,000 additional people have been displaced by the conflict over the border. The British Government is providing emergency support to help 100,000 people facing severe food shortages in South Sudan.
