Description
Español: Manuel Bulnes Prieto (Concepción, 25 de diciembre de 1799 - Santiago, 18 de octubre de 1866) fue un militar y político chileno, presidente de la República entre 1841 y 1846, siendo reelegido para el periodo inmediatamente siguiente entre 1846 y 1851. Su gobierno es considerado uno de los más importantes del siglo XIX. Durante su decenio, se sentaron las bases del régimen republicano, se crearon los instituciones educacionales más importantes de la nación y se realizó un importante avance en el reconocimiento del territorio.
