Summary[edit]

Description
English: Detail of an Ancient Roman bronze tripod belonging to a separate bronze cup, both discovered in 1879 during excavation work at Villa Backerbosch in Cadier en Keer, South Limburg, the Netherlands. The foot is decorated with floral ornaments and animal claws. The object from the 2nd century AD is now in the collection of the Rijksmuseum van Oudheden in Leiden. This photo was taken during the temporary exhibition Topstukken van het Rijksmuseum van Oudheden in the Limburgs Museum in Venlo, while the museum in Leiden was closed for renovations.
