This flag is fictitious, proposed, or locally used unofficially. It has not been adopted in an official capacity, and although it may be named as if it was an official flag of a geographical or other entity and have some visual elements that are similar to official logos or flags of that entity, it does not have any official recognition. A flag of this type should not be added to any articles or pages unless it is officially proposed by a government agency, covered by the media, or sees notable local use. |
Rinconada Bikol flag resembles much of the Philippine flag. The dark turquoise color visually represents the clean tributaries and lakes in Rinconada District, which is the home of Rinconada people. The white color symbolizes freedom, and bright future of the people and of the native language. The equal bands of the two colors symbolize equality. The logo is composed of rice stalks, sun and stars. The three golden yellow stars are from the Philippine flag, and signifying that Rinconada is a part of Philippine territory (which is a part of Luzon) and under the jurisdiction of the Philippine government. The stars are also the symbol of the three major components of Rinconada Bikol, which are the extinct aboriginal language of indigenous Aeta, the original Austronesian language of Austronesian people and the borrowed vocabularies from foreign languages. At the same time, the stars also represents different races of the people - the Aeta/Agta or Negrito, The Austronesian, and the newcomers that have embraced the language and culture of Rinconada. The rice stalks symbolize the renaissance of the language and the rich history of Rinconada culture. Rice is also the major agricultural product of the region and a symbol of prosperity and progress. The changing color of the rice stalks against the color of the background signify the mobility and adaptability of the people wherever they go. The sun is divided into two equal parts, the upper half disc and the lower half disc. The upper half disc is pertaining to the highland dialect while it is also geographically pointing to the mountainous part of the region, such as the mountain range along Baao and Bula, the highlands of Balatan and Mount Iriga. The lower half disc represents the lowland dialect and the pristine lakes that dotted the landscape, such as Lake Bula-Baao, Lake Bato and Lake Buhi. The sun itself is set to rise and shine that depicts the location of Rinconada in the globe and in the Philippine archipelago, as the old name of it suggests the place - Sumagang (East), or the place where the sun rises. The whole disc of the sun symbolizes unity of the people. The location of the logo on the left or hoist is basically patterned from the location (but not the position) of the sun and stars in the Philippine flag as a symbol and sign of respect to the nation.
