Description
English: A Royal Navy Merlin Mk1 helicopter waits for permission to take off from RFA Argus.

Trainee pilots, observers and aircrewmen spent five weeks aboard RFA Argus with 3 Merlin helicopters practicing basic deck landings and load transfers to undertaking complex tactical sorties.

This training mission was the last hurdle for the students who have spent between two and four years to reach this point. If successful they will earn their wings soon and join front-line units.
