| Description | Queues for the Wightlink FastCat service, at the end of Ryde Pier, Ryde, Isle of Wight in November 2011. The queue was huge, and actually extended out of the ferry terminal, across the pier head car park and down the pier. At the time, Hovertravel had been forced to suspend all its services due to safety concerns after a propeller broke mid-crossing (http://onthewight.com/2011/11/19/hovertravel-service-suspended-due-to-mca-safety-concerns/). To make matters worse, a Wightlink FastCat had also broken down, and the charter vessel which was due to replace it, didn't run. |
