Description

20151101_DEU_AB_5 MEDITERRANEAN SEA -- While participating in NATO-Exercise Trident Juncture 2015, the weather conditions south of Spain changed and the ships of the joined naval force under the command of Commander SNMG2 are rocking from side to side. During their transit towards the Straits of Gibraltar, the ships are in a low-pressure area with strong winds and waves of four meters and more. Depicted British landing platform helicopter ship HMS OCEAN from another naval group in TJ15 some nautical nautical miles away from SNMG2 flagship German frigate FGS HAMBURG (November 1, 2015). The units of Standing NATO Maritime Group 2 (SNMG2) are sailing in the Mediterranean Sea and the waters around the Staits of Gibraltar in order to, inter alia, participate in multinational exercises and Operation ACTIVE ENDEAVOUR, show presence of the Alliance and conduct routine port visits in NATO and Non-NATO countries.
