Dilated pupilsAvere constant in the late stages, and the breathing irregular.)t was not uncommon to find for several successive days asnnich as six degrees difterence between the morning and even-ing temperature. A morning rise of temperature for some dayswas noticed in four cases. There was usually no relationbetween the pulse and the temperature. Treaimeni.—A very great variety of drugs were employed,often uselessly. Mercury given in the early stage until its con-stitutional effects were obtained (Case I.), and followed by largedoses of the iodide of potassium, seemed to do good. Leechesapplied to the temples greatly relieved the headache. Morphiahypodermically was of great use temporarilv, but full doseswere often necessary. Ice-bags to head and spine benefitedsome cases.
