English: Salvador Isabelino del Sagrado Corazón de Jesús Allende Gossens is generally considered the first democratically elected Marxist to become president of a country in the Americas and among the first two or three to do so in the World. I don't think they'll erect a statue of the man responsible for his downfall. Not yet anyway. Español: Estatua en bronce de Salvador Allende ubicada en una esquina de la plaza de la Constitución, frente al Palacio de La Moneda. Es obra del escultor Arturo Hevia y fue inaugurada por el entonces presidente Ricardo Lagos el 26 de junio de 2000.
