Français : Les statues appartiennent à un groupe de quatre personnages analogues à ceux retrouvés dans le théâtre de Dionysos à Athènes. Abondamment restaurés, transformés en support de vasque et exposés en plein air, ils comptaient au XVIIIe siècle parmi les pièces les plus connues de la villa Salaria du cardinal Albani (1692-1779) : plusieurs peintres contemporains, parmi lesquels Hubert Robert, les ont représentés. Une réduction de la vasque faisait partie du surtout en biscuit de Sèvres de Napoléon Ier aux Tuileries. Au Louvre, ils furent intégrés à une tribune étonnante dans la salle du Tibre. C'est pourquoi ils furent échangés en 1815 contre quatre cariatides de la collection Mazarin, qui furent vendues par le commissaire du prince Albani à Munich.
