Description

Der Schrifftgiesser. Holzschnitt aus: w:de:Jost Amman (1539-1591): Eygentliche Beschreibung aller Stände auff Erden hoher und nidriger, geistlicher und weltlicher, aller Künsten, Handwerken und Händeln ... (erstmals Frankfurt am Main 1568; auch bekannt als: Das Ständebuch). Im Buch wird das Bild von folgendem Text von w:de:Hans Sachs begleitet:

Ich geuß die Schrifft zu der Druckrey
Gemacht auß Wißmat, Zin und Bley,
Die kan ich auch gerecht justiern,
Die Buchstaben zusammn ordniern
Lateinisch und Teutscher Geschrifft
Was auch die Griechisch Sprach antrifft
Mit Versalen, Puncten und Zügn
Daß sie zu der Truckrey sich fügen.

(Anmerkungen: Wißmat = Wismut, ordniern = ordnen, Was auch die Griechisch Sprach antrifft = hier soviel wie: ich kann auch griechische Buchstaben gießen)
