Summary[edit]

Description
English: Terracotta detail, the Barbara Frietchie, 1100-1102 17th Avenue, Seattle, Washington, USA. One of a group of apartments built just before the Great Depression, known collectively as the "International Village". The Barbara Frietchie is described by the Seattle Department of Neighborhoods as "the queen of the group, somewhat larger than the others and with a prominent corner location." (Summary for 1100 17th AVE, Seattle Department of Neighborhoods.) They also remark, "Despite the striking two-story columns and the Colonial Revival name, much of the detailing appears to have an Zig Zag Moderne inspiration."
