Summary[edit]

Description

I am on Bugak Skyway at the north end of downtown, above the Blue House, the Presidential Residence.

Looking south toward downtown, with Namsan and N-Seoul Tower behind, and Mt. Gwanak in the far distance on the far shore of the Han River. While Seoul's original city limits were at Namsan, the current city limits are at Gwanak.

While Bugak Skyway is Seoul's original scenic drive, I thought City Route 88, or Olympic Expressway, which lines the south shore of the Han River along the entire east-west width of Seoul, was far more scenic. Between the water, the skyscrapers, and the distant view of the northern hills, Olympic Expressway qualifies as my favorite urban scenic drive in the world. It feels somewhat like New York City's Henry Hudson Parkway, and playing some Mariah Carey in the rental car really brought out that parallel.
