The 'Morning Star' passenger ferry leaves the Tsim Sha Tsui pier for another trip across to Central, Hong Kong Island. Behind it a setting sun refelcts on the glass of the International Commerce Centre (ICC), left, and The Arch residential tower of Union Square, West Kowloon. Construction of the ICC was completed in 2010. It is the tallest building in Hong Kong and the fifth tallest in the world. The 'Morning Star' ferry is the second to carry the name and was built in 1965 at the Hong Kong & Whampoa Shipyard. In 1888 'Morning Star' was the name given to the very first 'Star' Ferry to run the service across Victoria Harbour. A trip across the harbour typically costs HKD $2 (USD $0.25 or less than £0.20) |
