English: The dominating feature of this image is a close up of a shop front. The shop signed as a 'caf for travellers' although bits of the sign have been blown away. The shop front itself is badly damaged by shrapnel.
Shrapnel is a hollow shell loaded with lead or steel balls and a small gunpowder charge. While the shell flew over the enemy it would be ignited by a time fuse. Shrapnel was a very effective killer.
