Description
English: Sign for the Cann Office Hotel The sign for the pub which stands on a motte and bailey. An ancient inn which became a staging post on the road from Aberdyfi to Shrewsbury with the introduction of the mail service in the mid 17th century. The innkeeper became the postmaster. 'Cann' = can (of ale).
