| Description |
English: Source-frame angles vacuum Doppler effect for various receiver coordinate-velocities (v/c = 0, 0.1, ... 0.9). This image is complementary to a receiver frame figure also posted here.
The coordinate-speed (v/c) color-key (for values between 0 and 0.9 in steps of 0.1) is indicated with colored dots (red means v/c=0, cyan means v/c=0.5, magenta means v/c=0.9) along a line in the direction of the approaching-receiver (i.e. the leftward direction of the longitudinal blue-shift or increased-frequency). The transverse red-shift, seen when we use source-frame right-angles, is mapped with white dots along the vertical-axis through the origin. The transverse red-shift, seen when one considers receiver-frame right-angle events instead, may be found marked with black dots at intervals to the right of the origin. |
