English: Southern Cemetery, Manchester This circular lawn serves as a place for 'Notable' graves.
The spired memorial stands over the grave of Daniel Adamson who led the team which fought and won the battle for the Ship Canal Act http://www.g4fas.net/Adamson.Stockport.Didsbury.html , and to the left, the white marble memorial stands over the grave of Sir John Alcock, who famously pioneered transatlantic flight. |
