English: Illustration of Saint Guinefort, the greyhound who was named a saint by medieval people in a rural area of France around the 13th century. The veneration of St. Guinefort continued for over 700 years despite the protests of the Roman Catholic Church. The fleur-de-lis in the borders of this illustration represents France and the Christian Trinity.
