http://www.waterscape.com/features-and-articles/news/2254/stourbridge-canal-breach-update The breach is about 20 metres wide and almost as deep.The lad at the top of the picture is standing IN what was the southern edge of the canal water. Not only has the embankment gone, but a sizeable volume of sandstone bedrock appears to be missing, though it has been suggested that the gap may have been infilled from the start. |
