The path diverges to the right 6-8 min. from the station andthe houses and ascends grassy and stony slopes to the (l1^ hr.) dark-green little Diavolezza Lake (8460), where it forks: to the rightthe toilsome old path over debris and a long snow-field, to the leftthe new path, which ascends in windings and finally passes for a shortdistance over snow, to the (I1/2hr.) Diavolezza Pass (9767), between(1.) the Piz Trovat (10,345) and (r.) the Hunt Pers (Mont Perdu1,•10,535). The little Hotel on the pass (15 beds at 4-5, B. 2 fr.)commands a**View of surpassing grandeur, especially in the rosytints of dawn, of the near Bernina group; below us lie the Pers andMorteratsch glaciers.
