| Description |
English: Take off at last! This RAF Sea King helicopter that was stranded at the Borders General Hospital helipad at Melrose since Wednesday 6th January, finally heads for RAF Boulmer in Northumberland on Sunday 10th January. The helicopter was grounded due to engine problems and RAF engineers worked over the weekend to get the helicopter airworthy again. A Chinook helicopter that was scheduled to arrive today to airlift the Sea King away was cancelled. This photograph was taken from the flat roof of the hospital. |
