Summary[edit]

Description Seen on the Cloak Lane side of the Tallow Chandlers' Hall (the main entrance is on Dowgate Hill). This coat of arms features the head of John the Baptist, the Chandlers' patron saint. The date 1672 refers to the founding of the current building; the original was destroyed in the Great Fire in 1666.
