Description
English: The Ettrick Shepherd. The statue to James Hogg, a local shepherd who became a prominent poet and novelist, was built close to Tibbie Shiels Inn, where he and Sir Walter Scott would meet for drinks. His statue is surrounded by the same breed of blackface sheep which he tended as a boy.
