Svenska: Den blå färgen i blåmesens fjäderdräkt är bildad av ett optiskt fenomen: Irisering. Också benämnt iridescens, som är fenomenet hos vissa ytor eller tunna skikt att färger framträder och skiftar om betraktningsvinkeln ändras.
English: The blue tit gets its blue colors through the phenomenon of iridiscence. Iridescence, also known as goniochromism, is the phenomenon of certain surfaces that appear to gradually change color as the angle of view or the angle of illumination changes.
