It is A dingle at the extremity of the Douglas woodawaits Mr. Jacksons attention; a secludedstream is by and by to be converted into asmall torrent, and Bamboos and Ferns are toadd to its attractiveness. The vineries, fortunately, have sufficient head-room to allow the canes ample length—about 30feet. Many of the best varieties areplanted singly on either side. The walkextends for a great distance, and terminatesin the woodland. Fountains and figures sur-rounded by beds, furnished in summer withtuberous Begonias, serve to break the even flat-ness of the long, front terrace.
