| Description |
English: The M1 at Sprucefield. When the M1 opened to Sprucefield (J7) in 1963 there was only one roundabout. Subsequent developments have seen another four added (in three squares) and a new junction (J8). Not that simple since north - south and vice-versa traffic can choose different routes rather than slavishly follow the one signposted. This is the Belfast-bound on-slip as signposted for traffic from the Dublin and Newry directions. This junction, roundabout and the park and ride are not shown on the Multi-Map. It would have been helpful if the roundabouts had names or numbers but they don't. There are plans for a new road to bypass them all. Continue to 1272730. |
