Summary[edit]
DescriptionTomb in the churchyard - geograph.org.uk - 1398154.jpg |
English: Tomb in the churchyard They say you learn something new each day and my friend told me that the skull and crossbones symbol was started by the Knight's Templar when bodies were returned from the Crusades. They would have rotted long before they got back here so they decided you only needed the skull and the long bones. I suppose the pirates then decided to 'borrow' the sign for their flag. |
