Nederlands: Dit transformatorhuisje is één van de eerste stations uit 1923, ontworpen door architect A. A. Kok uit Bussum. Kok was eveneens de architect van de elektriciteitscentrale in de voormalige gemeente Westdorpe (Stroodorpe). De P.Z.E.M. kocht deze bouwgrond aan in 1922 en liet dit gebouwtje hier neerzetten voor de elektriciteitsvoorziening in Westdorpe. Dit station is in zijn soort een bijzonder bouwwerk, uniek voor de Provincie Zeeland.
Het rechtergedeelte was de middenspanning- en het linker de laagspanningsruimte, gescheiden door een muurtje. Door een ondergrondse kabel komt de elektriciteit in het station. In dit transformatorstation wordt de spanning van 10.000 volt omlaag getransformeerd naar 380 / 220 V. via laagspanningskabels gaat de energie naar de verbruikers. Door het in gebruik nemen van een nieuw station in het bejaardentehuis ‘t Verlaet in 1963, kwam dit station te vervallen en werd het gebouwtje verkocht aan de toenmalige gemeente Westdorpe. Daarna is het gebruik geweest als opslagplaats voor oud papier voor een goed doel. In 2005 is het door de gemeente Terneuzen in samenwerking met Stichting Landschapsbeheer Zeeland hersteld, het publicatiebord is geschonken van Delta. |
