Description
English: Model of the Tunsberghus Fortress, founded ca. 1000, burned down in 1503, on the Slottsfjellet Mountain in Tønsberg, Norway's oldest town, founded in 871.

Exhibition model by Major Andreas Hauge on display at the Armed Forces Museum of Norway at Akershus Fortress in Oslo, Norway.

Norsk bokmål: Tunsberghus festning på Slottsfjellet (tidligere kalt Mikkelsberget) i Tønsberg ble anlagt omkring år 1000.

Festningen ble utbygd av kongene Håkon Håkonsson og Magnus Lagabøte på 1200-tallet. Den var hovedsete for Baglerne under feiden med Birkebeinerne. Festningen ble ødelagt ved brann i 1503.

I 1888 ble det nåværende Slottsfjelltårnet reist til minne om Tønsbergs tusen år som by (byen ble grunnlagt i 871).

Modell lagd av major Andreas Hauge og utstilt på Forsvarsmuseet på Akershus festning i Oslo.
