Description
English: WMSL-752 USCGC Stratton.It's namesake comes from Dorothy C. Stratton(1899-2006).It is the first white hull to bear a name since the 1980's.The previous was Harriet Lane in 1984.A Captain in the U.S.Coast Guard.This will be the third of eight National Security Cutters being built at Northrop Grumman Ingalls Operation in Pascagoula,Mississippi.The Legends Class Deep Water National Security Cutters are 418ft long and can travel 28+ Knots.Michelle Obama is the Stratton's Sponsor and the first to sponsor a Coast Guard Cutter..The 418 feet Legends Class Cutters are replacing the Twelve aging and smaller 378ft long,43 ft wide, Hamilton Class High Endurance Cutters.
