English: 050113-M-1158H-005 DAMBULLA, Sri Lanka -- Sri Lankan relief workers load vegetables onto a U.S. Air Force HH-60 Pavehawk helicopter from the Okinawa, Japan-based 33rd Rescue Squadron for transport to Ampara, Sri Lanka, Jan. 13 as part of Combined Support Group-Sri Lanka's humanitarian assistance and disaster relief operations in the country. To date, U.S. helicopters have delivered about 250,000 pounds of relief supplies to the tsunami-affected people of Sri Lanka in the south and east, including fresh vegetable deliveries totaling more than 30 tons. Also, U.S. personnel in southern Sri Lanka have completed multiple projects to clear schools, municipal buildings and residential areas of the debris left in the wake of the tsunami. CSG-SL continues to coordinate relief support closely with the Sri Lankan government and the U.S. Agency for International Development. The combined support group, currently comprised of more than 1,600 U.S. Marines, sailors, soldiers and airmen, mostly from U.S. bases in Okinawa, Japan, and California began arriving three weeks ago to assist the people of Sri Lanka.
